Trying to wire in trailer light harness in my 997.2 C2S.
Anybody know where I can access 12 volt power in the engine compartment?
From searching threads, I found there is a black box with a (+) on it in the engine compartment of older models, but my 997.2 does not seem to have this. So, anybody know where I can access 12 volt power in the engine compartment? Thanks.

I just recently had a hitch added to my car to pull a small tire trailer. I checked with the shop that did the install and I believe they sourced power directly off the alternator and added a fuse for that circuit on the alternator brace.

The alternator sounds like a good idea for 12 volt power direct from the battery. Sounds a lot easier than what I ended up doing. I didn't see the cavalry coming to save the day, so I forged ahead on my own. I ran a wire (supplied with the trailer wiring harness for just this purpose) from the positive terminal of the battery all the way to the left rear tail light area, where the converter box is placed. I took the under trays off and ran it along with the other wires and pipes underneath there. It's a clean, secure installation, just time consuming. It's direct power from the battery, so the computers won't throw codes.
