2010 GT3 Sport Bucket Seat Rattle
Driving over regular road irregularities and bumps, the passenger side sport bucket seat has developed a very annoying rattle (almost a loud buzzzzz) which seems to be coming from the harness pass through insert. When I hold the insert the rattle stops but the insert doesn't appear to be loose. Dealer says the rattle is from the seat back release "pull" and another GT3 with the carbon bucket seat in the shop at the same time has the same issue. Shop foreman confirmed there is no fix at this time.
Anyone else have this problem? Any solution?

I thought I had it in pass side... But went away.. Don't hear it anymore. I changed the way seat belt used to go through the the upper hole to just hanging away from the bucket seat...
Not sure if that was related to the rattle or buzzing annoying sound... Plus now my sharky bypass muffs over any interior sound.. =)

I had a similar noise and it was the pull vibrating against the seat. I think that when you hold the insert, you may be damping the motion of the seatback so that the pull doesn't vibrate enough to make contact.
I cut a short length of black, adhesive backed 1/2" wide foam weatherstripping and stuck it to the top side of the strap loop so that it couldn't contact the seat. Because it's black, it's virtually invisible and it solved the problem. Might be worth a try.

^ Exactly that. I have the same problem. Passenger side, release pull vibrating against the carbon shell.
If you have the OEM cage, you can "loop" the seat pull backwards until it rests hard against the cage, eliminating the play and hence rattle.
Otherwise, you can go for a duct tape "fix". I applied a bunch of black vinyl duct tape around the outlet of the seat pull to hold it close to the carbon shell. Where the adhesive bits of duct tape may interefere with the motion of the seat pull I folded the adhesive bits together to make them smooth. Takes a bit of grade school arts-n-crafts, but it works and for the better part of a year that was my setup. Until I found the "loop" against rollcage solution.

The seat pull is definitely causing the rattle. I'll be trying your solutions this weekend. Thanks for your quick responses.

You're welcome. Here's what my fix looks like. With the seat in normal light it's almost invisible. Just make sure the piece of foam is long enough so when you extend the pull the foam is still inside the opening and won't catch on it when you release.
