No more Over Rev Reports??
I'm looking at purchasing a 997 GT2 from a Porsche dealer and asked them to provide me with an Over Rev report.
Their answer:
We just upgraded to Porsche's new software and it no longer shows Over Rev reports.
Makes me go Hmmm......
I find this hard to believe, is it true??

I remember hearing some talk about this last year. Did you call other dealerships in the area? Maybe a different dealership in the area can still do it, as part of your PPI.

A harbinger of future Porsches...in an all-PDK world, over-rev reports will not be needed...

They are BSing. The new PIWIS, while slow and cumbersome to use, pulls overrev info just like the old one did... Maybe the dealer hasn't learned how to use the tool yet.
Here's a picture of me pulling my info with the latest tool:

I'd bet $1 that the car has over revs.

What I heard, and Porsche centres seem to act in this way - The reports - a report of 30 or more pages - that includes somewhere the overrevs - are not supposed to be given to the customer..anymore..or not so easily anymore. Practical example, walked with my report to a dealer recently..asked me" where do you get it from - Porsche centres are not allowed to give it to you"
Also, be aware, since a few months cars with overrev from range 3 on..are supposed to do leak down test..this is especially targeted to 997.1 -997.2, boxster 987. and 2...of course to non Pdk cars. There have been quite a few cases where Porsche had to replace engines on these cars..and has therefore become more strict.
