Default MPSS Track Pressures

Just finished running Chin at Homestead today. The tire seemed to get very loose at anything over 37 rears. Anyone else have this experience. What is everyone running for hot pressures at the track for a GT3/RS.2?

I run 38f/39r hot and that works well on my 997.2 gt3 in cooler weather... In warmer weather, they do tend to get a little greasy by nature...

Start at 27F / 28R and you should be good.

So what's the better answer? 38/39 or 36/37?

Yep, 38+ hot is greasy in my limited time on these tires. Also, you lose 2 PSI on your cooldown lap, so adjust accordingly.

These are the tyres I use on days forecast to be wet so it is a cold track even if it is dry... If you are running them on a warmer, dry track maybe try 1-2psi as suggested by the others.

I now run Hankook RS3 For warmer dry days and they run fantastic at about 38-39 hot, far less greasy... Very progressive as they approach the limit and heaps more grip under braking....

I start out around 29/30 then it warms up to about 34F/37R... Im thinking 1-2 higher is ok. I do feel that they start to squeal a bit more when pressure is lower than ideal. I think outside temp was low 70s.

As someone said here.. the tires last long time. Just not the greatest grip but I get to enjoy good amount of track time and learning the car without burning rubber too fast.

I would like to try RS3 next when summer comes.

Well worth a try for a dry track kormaster! Once warmed up, they offer amazing grip for a street tyre. IMO, way superior to the MPSS on a dry track. Fewer TC interventions under throttle, rarely go into ABS through lack of traction from tyres as I found was very common with MPSS and good feedback and progressive as they approach the limit... Not great in the wet but give near MPSC performance in the dry (certainly no worse in the wet than mpsc either... better I'd say)

Don't get me wrong, if the forecast is for any sort of wet weather I go MPSS and happily run dry or wet but RS3 will be my dry tyre till my driving is consistent enough to warrant burning up $$$ on Rcomp tyres... They are that good

Agree with the preceding comments. I run 36F/38R when hot. The rear end really gets loose when the rears get up 40 psi or higher.

Hi there

I've done 9 track events on my MPSS so far, still 4mm left all round, amazing tyre.

I aim for 36f hot, don't go much lower if your not above -2.00 front camber otherwise you'll scrub the edges.

Rears maximum of 38 hot, otherwise as other have said, will get greasy!

Awesome tire, I will put in on my street wheels.

They are on my wife's 15K mile BMW, I dont see much wear and I have done a handfull of laps with it on track. I might take my street wheels on track for a couple of days just to see what they'll do VS Toyo RA1 with data on board.

I have seen a 3.8RS SSTHO do 6 days on MPSS and they held very well!
