gt3 oil leak common?

I've never had any oil leaks in my last 3 GT3 engines (996 3.6, 4.0 I built, 997.2 3.8), but aside from cases of RMS leaks, these engines shouldn't leak oil from anywhere, ever.
My friend also has a 996 turbo (same engine) with a TON of miles and it's bone dry.

My 993 weeps a bit, but it burns less than a quart between changes (98k+ miles); the GT3 I'm waiting on sits on a spotless piece of polished concrete with the current owner - he cranks it several times a week but has put less than 10k on it in nearly 4 years.

if you have gt3 standing for a few months..and engine not turning, then this increases the risk of a few oil drops..
For example, my 3.6 was standing a few months..- then i sold it - the new owner went to the dealer..told him the story..but the dealer told him, "drive it for 1000km an we will see - if it keeps leaking we will replace the seal". In the end it doesnt leak anymore..so they didnt replace the RMS. The car has official appproved warranty..

I had a 2007 GT3 and in the 11 months of ownership it spent 14 weeks in the shop and had 4 rear main seals replaced. The very interesting point was after the second replacement the Porsche Regional Service director told the dealership that the cause was improper replacement by the service tech. So she would oversee the next replacement. Well she did, pronounced the work done properly and I drove the car the 50 plus miles home. Within 1/2 of pulling in the garage I was on the phone to the dealership as it was leaking again. That is leaking from driving not sitting. The stickler her is that in the owners manual it clearly states as a caution in bold print. Report any oil leaks to your dealer and do not drive the vehicle until repaired. This is a semi- race engine and will seep a little oil but Porsche NA would not back off from the caution. I understand that if you install the 996 Turbo rear main seal it will stop the leak. At least back then Porsche would not agree to that. Bottom line after the fourth I said either give me a new engine or buy back the car as it was not intended to have frequent engine removals. They bought back the car. Except for the oil leak it was a great vehicle the little I got to use it.
