GT2 RS @ MSRP

Hi Maroli,
well, "GT2 lags plenty" (?)..I also own a 997 GT3..so I know what Im talking about. Yes, GT3 throttle response is better, but you have to keep the car above 5000rpm.
For the GT2RS - the lag is less than in GT2--thats for sure. Even Porsche said itself that despite the more HP..the power is more linear. The GT2RS is also easier to drive at the limit compared to GT2..that again despite it has more power.
Of course Porsche can say many things..but really, the Gt2RS has less lag then the GT2..and I would go even that far - saying - the liniearity of power of the GT2RS is the best I have ever witnessed - its better then 997. 3.6/3.8/3.8RS. However, I have never driven the 4.0..or been in one.
Im the opposite of TRAKCAR..he knows the 4.0..but doesnt know the GT2RS..I know the GT2RS..but dont know the 4.0. We need to meet personally to discuss the issue and to propose an agreed statement to Rennlist

If you say the GT2 RS lags less than the GT2, I believe you. Maybe it has something to do with the change in the cats. I guess what I'm saying is the engine isn't as throttle sensitive as the GT3. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I haven't spent as much time with GT2's or 3's as you and I agree with you that on the track, the lag matters a lot less. The engine just doesn't seem as organic as the 8300 rpm gt3 mezger though. Different strokes for different folks

Three Wheelin'
overpriced by $100k, and even at $173k I would not jump into one.
If you want massive power, a 2008/2009 GT2 and a powerkit is a better choice for value/performance.
I have driven 2 different 997 GT2 and they both were laggy.
Tanner Foust tested a GT2 RS and he recorded the same issue Savy experienced, massive drop of power due to heat soak. At Sebring, this would make a GT2 RS a 2 laps wonder, and then down to 3.8RS speed.
4.0RS is a much better choice.
