Question Figured this crowd might know (Superlite Coupe)

had always wanted an Ultima GTR, but since i came across the Superlite Coupe it's all i can think about.. thinking of selling my Ariel Atom in a few months if I can find a way to get one into my garage... problem is the company does not reply to any contact... and it's impossible to get additional information.

i see the pricing layouts for all the "stages" but curious if possible to purchase a turn key model that is not used/abused already... have only seen one vehicle for sale period which is a track vehicle out of louisville, but again the seller is non responsive..

do the owners of superlite coupes not believe in contact from strangers... or am i dealing with a secret brotherhood of owners and need to get initiated..

would appreciate any and all help in sourcing/locating a turn key superlite coupe.

-Riley

have you heard of problems? their "ariel atom" replica they make kinda offends me and makes me question the superlite coupe.. but the vehicle really interests me.. it seems like the ultima GTR but a better build (but maybe not).

basically really enjoy 4cyl F/I aluminum chassis setups and figured an aluminum chassis with FI V8 would be the next possible transition.....

curious to hear your thoughts, i know the ultima is very labor intensive and most sell before they even get to race them... doesn't sound like fun which is why i was trying to find a turn key solution... i've seen factory pics of them building the cars but again cannot get any info.

i know i jump around a lot and many will poke fun because i dont track the vehicles.. but i'm just trying to enjoy some cars before life steps in and i have bigger responsibilities like wife/kids... even if funds allow, i dont think i could drive an airbag'less vehicle with a wife/kids at home... so trying to knock it out now.

It's a bad idea, there's more to it than engine and transmission.
If its hard to get info now, imagine when something starts breaking...

i hear you on that, you would think the manufacturer would be better about contact/etc to increase the value of their product, then again that's probably why they sell in kit's and leave it up to the owners... from what i have seen 75% of the vehicles i have located are not finished... someone in cali actually found one half abandoned on a sidewalk.

:-/

appreciate the insight, i figured the track guys if anyone would have seen them around/heard about them more.

Pro Skier Jon Olsson has been tinkering with a one since 2010.

He has tracked it, gumballed it, painted it etc...
Has had his fair share of problems with it.

He has been constantly redesigning it.

Last going off he pulled it from a german tuner who couldnt give him what he wanted and brought it back to Sweden for Caresto and Leif Tufvesson (chief developer for Koenigsegg for 6 years) to rebuild the car.
They will be totally redesigning the car this winter 2013.

here is a clip of his car back in 2010:

Riley,

I have also had a passing interest in the SLC as well. I sent a note to Fran at RCR and he got back to me within minutes. He also hooked me up with a guy in Connecticut that builds and supplies turn-key cars for fun. I will probably go and visit him in the next few weeks. Let me know if you would like his info to speak with him. Thanks, Greg.

Check out the gt40 forum. There is tons of information on SLC (superlite coupe) builds in the RCR tab. Fran at Race Car Replicas has some amazing products. I visited his shop last year and it is stunning. He is also doing a P-917 replica in addition to GT40, Lola, P4, XJ13 an exo skeleton car and others.

^ +1 Fran is extremely focused on customer service. Surprises me your having problems contacting him. Try again, he's got staff, likely just missing him. GT40s.com has a dedicated forum for RCR.
