Supply and demand. Got a set of fronts rolling my way from Tire Crazy. Getting rears from DiscountTireDirect. That should hold me for a long time.

Wow, it looks like I just got lucky getting mine when I did!

Mounted them up yesterday. Rear tire does look a 'little' bit smaller in the wheel well but nothing dramatic.

I'm really biting at the bit to try these out. You watch, I'll get hooked and then they'll start getting scarce like the RA-1's.

They're already scarce in the sizes we need. National back order. People are starting to figure out they work. In a perfect world Nitto will figure out there is a demand in our community and make a 305. Not that the 315 doesn't work, but who wouldn't want an OEM fit if it's offered. It would certainly make those on the fence a little more comfortable in trying them.

My first experience on nittos was riding passenger at road atlanta a couple years ago. Walked away so jealous they could use them. Stewed on it for a year and finally said "F" it. I'll mount them, try them with a progressive build in speed at sebring, and if they don't work I'll sell them to a 996 owner.

The only downside, as Nick reported, are PSM issues. Mooty has used them as well. Said they were fine till PSM is switched on and then the car was very unhappy. If you have a .1, PSM isn't an option so no problem. If you have a .2 and don't mind running PSM off, it's the closest thing I've found to a shaved RA1.

7 days (25-28 heat cycles) on my current set at 3 different tracks. Have sebring coming up next weekend. Will report back when they finally cord.

Deputydog, you're a man after my own heart! Cheap (or shall we say value conscious) but intellegent about your choices.

I've been doing this hobby for 13 years now and the prize money has never come close to paying for an additional 1/10 here or 1/10 there. I want something safe, fun, and fastish but at a cost that doesn't infringe on my many other expensive interests.

Thanks for the insight.

I'm cheap. No secrets there. NT01 is best bang for the buck since we can't get RA1 anymore.

You are 1/2 correct. da Dawg is cheap but the intelligent part is still open for debate.

The 85% tires are left. These were my track wets and this set has 5-6 DE sessions on them.

He might as well bring his tractor and saves the miles on his GT3. Same end result

I took it easy building up speed the 1st day. 2nd day morning session was easy then 1 after noon session was hot laps and then I noticed the splits.

I have actually 2 more of the same tires that did the same thing but 2 days a Barber and 1 day at Sebring.

I've called Toyo and called Tire Rack who I bought these from and sent photo's and a long explanation about my car, alignment specs and the history of splitting issues I've had with Toyo R888 tires recently. Ball is in their court so I'll see if they (Toyo) stand up and help me out and fix this issues so it doesn't happen again.

If they do not replaced these tires and figure out why they are splitting and how to keep them from splitting I'm going to use the Nitto NT01's or go back to 19" and use the Pirelli Trofeo. Pirelli is more expensive but heck I can't get more than 2 days as it is now.
Mike I told you, get some RA1 for the rear from me..

I have not read all, but I'm out of NT01 fronts, hoping to make it through Winterfest on 2 used sets with 4 days each, so order from www.tirecrazy.com or ate they out? Just fronts...
