My 997.2rs was doing same and at my last track event it essentially hardened on me. I couldn't start the car in gear or get it in to gear with the clutch depressed. Got a new 4.0 clutch via warranty. Haven't got the car back yet. Driving it at Cota next wknd. Will advise.

Transmission is coming out of Giesha today / tomorrow for a new presure plate / clutch / throw out bearing.

Im timing out all of the old parts, will post pics of teh old vs new when completed. The parts have about 10,000 track miles on them

^ Good stuff. My PP quit at less than 3k track mikes but the clutch has seen about 6k and still has about 75% left.

By the way, installing cup cables in my car got rid of the "popping/clicking" noise during 3-4 shift. The cables are perfect.

Are you on the original clutch/pp etc.? Or replaced previously/already? If replaced, do you have 4.0 or 3.8 setup in the car?

Sadly even the stronger 4.0pp doesn't last as long as we'd like. It's mostly due to gearing down using the trans... Especially on the track;(

Removed presure plate / clutch / throwout bearing today. I decided not to have this work done at the dealer so my local shop (Zotz Racing) could figure out why the car wasn't shifting and would stick in gear

Old parts are 4.0 vintage replaced at 12,500 miles. Car now has 23,000 miles, 8,000 of this track

Clutch failed at same place as the 3.8 part, it just held together a bit better. Not sure how the pressure plate damage happened, probaby from a weak broken clutch
