I want another 911 for daily commuting. The GT3 has always been a car I lusted for which ironically I've never driven until now. Clutch was super heavy. I've driven a lot of manual performance cars and never have I had this much trouble with the pedal. The ride was super stiff too. Other than these two gripes the car was wonderful. I know I'm not that old! Spoke with a friend who had a 997GT3 and has a 997TT and he echoed my review.
so...is the clutch going bad? maybe I need to adjust suspension?

I run like 15 k on the street, not the best but ok.

I would hate to drive a mk1 if the mk2 is so much better on the street.
Clutch on my 997.2 GT3 is stiff. Ride is really stiff and doesn't handle bumps and breaks in pavement well. Also bad roads scare the sh*t out of me as I don't want to break the car.
No way would I daily drive my car. It's speed yellow with a lot of options both performance, and exclusive options that make the car beautiful. I love the car....but daily driver that you can just drive....go over bumps without a care, and not worry about steep driveways etc...NO
My 2003 S2000 with bigger wheels and tires stock is a better daily.
My 550i is a dream daily driver, but big as a boat, and handles like crap compared to the S2000 and GT3.......but man when I drive the BMW I don't even know what a bump in the road is.
In the GT3 bumps scare the crap out of me !

The ride is perfectly fine also with the 997.2 cars... Easy to live with IMO... The 996 variants were harsher...

coming from a 2006 C2s, the GT3 is a dream to drive. yes the clutch and ride are a little stiff. The trade off is Sooooo worth it.
The ride, (normal setting) is less stiff than the C2s is in sport mode. When you need the stiffer option, hit the sport button for a less compliant ride.

You are right about this!!
I drove a Mazda RX8 that had the heaviest clutch i have ever driven. Including my Formula Ford. I thought something was broken with it
The Gt3 clutch is nothing really, the GT2rs is a ton heavier than the 3.

When you're driving home tired at the end of a track day and you get stuck in an hour of stop start commuter traffic, the clutch and stiff ride can make it a miserable experience. All other times, it's fine. The interior noise level at highway speeds bothers me a lot more. You can fix that with a noise canceling headset.

I just got back from probably the last ride of the season. Snow coming!
100 miles of no school buses and the inevitable person doing 10MPH under the limit in New Hampshire. It's going to be a long winter.
I love that thing, DD no problem at all.
After a race weekend, yes I agree. It wouldn't be my choice for a long trip home
