So, even when not racing it depends on what you want. For minimal depreciation and few mods you get the most DE driving out of a GT3 for the $$ bar none. Not the fastest but fast enough for me ad I still have a nice street car for Monday morning after a simple wheel swap. For max TT laps or bullying almost anything can be made to go better best lap time.
Best track car for the money, maybe not anymore IMO. With the coolant issues, clutch issues, RMS, CL etc. The true test is out of warranty, and some people around here would be sporting some SERIOUS bills if the cars weren't. The ACR is the best. Might even throw the Boss in there for a thought considering it's less than half the cost but not half the speed. And neither of the other options look any crazier to non enthusiasts with big ole wings on the back or bright colors when you drive them on the street.

You could drive the Viper at 8/10's (still 3 tenths higher than most owners drive them) and still outrun the GT3 all day while preserving equipment. The ACR is legit. And since none are still in production, they all count.

There really is onlyone issue on the 3.8RS and that is clutch and PP. 3.8 non RS and 4.0RS no problem.
2010 no more RMS, no more coolant lines coming off, no CL problems except I guess the GT#'s that are recalled now.

The Boss we killed at Sebring on the first weekend, not bad, but it also needs fixing to become a survivor and fixing is $$. The ACR I dont know enough but the few locals I see dont seem to keep them for some reason. personally I dont like how they feel and how I am not confortable inthe cockpit. When I saw one from the bottom I could not believe the crudeness of the car. Not my taste but the new one could be a winner for sure.

Only the very special 200cc special 4.0. The normal ones are $50K less, or $250.00 per CC.

Wanna911 scratch the Boss off your list of reliable cars. Yes mine had shifting issues which an aftermarket clutch/pressure plate cured. What I couldn't handle was the constant limp mode/CEL issues and sometimes no codes. The biggest issue though is a very fragile wiring harness and connectors which is really scary on a track car with the abuse it gets.

I do agree Viper ACR for the win, IF you are man enough to drive one fast which leaves me out.

So $135k now is that for an RS without the 4L engine or (if there is such a thing) a plain GT3?

Scratched. I got a good impression from some guys that have had them at the track, didn't know they had those kinds of issues.

I'd like to drive an ACR and see what they are all about. If it's the car that scares all of the owners or they are just scary to begin with. Yeah, they sound like a dump truck, are pretty heavy and not very refined, but that excites me.....

I think it's like the 6GT2 with a reputation of being difficult and dangerous. With me and my 6GT2 it was a faster car than I was ccomfortable with so it was definently driver in my case.

Let me say that having raced against them, they are the real deal make no mistake about it. We went to Road America with NARRA this summer and they are fast, we brought a knife to a gun fight at that track. The top cars were 2 seconds faster a lap than we were.
