I'm a fan of the recaro pro racer spg hans. The elephant ears on the recaro are larger vs Omp(bigger contact patch to helmet in case of extreme lateral loads). U need larger size seat ie XL. I suggest u test fit yourself before buying. Mike

The "stock" shocks on a .2 are valved slighty better for road and track duty but are still not true track shocks.

The .1RS can take a 265 tire up front and a GT2 sway bar in the rear to do the same thing a .2RS in terms of tunability. no big deal.

(If you are building a track car, either car will want proper suspension and gearing anyhow.)

apart from the .2 having ****ty centerlock wheels, it is a great place to start if you have an additional $30-40k to spend over the price of a 997.1RS.
What's wrong with the centerlocks?

^check sticky(administration) on "centerlocks-I'm out..." No need to rehash what's been said about them. Mike

I can offer a best of both worlds as Im thinking of selling my prized possestion that I just finished Building to go spec racing.

997 Cup with 996 Cup ease of use and cost.

997 Cup with a H pattern 996 Cup Transmission & 5 lug wheels

So you get the looks, handling of a 997 Cup but with the running costs of a 996 Cup.

Every part on the car is pristine and less than 5 hours on ALL components.

If anyone is interested in discussing price and specs PM me.

You will not find a cleaner built racecar.

Mobonic. Just out if curiosity -was it a simple plug/play to adapt h-pattern manny to 7cup motor? If so would same hold for a 7cup seq on a 6? Also the car in question is a 7cup tub with 6cup tranny rt? Mike

Randy, check out the halo seat from Racetech (NZ). I found it more comfortable than the Recaro's. It's not just hip dimensions that you might have to consider but shoulders as well. I always felt I was being pushed out of the Recaro seat because of this. Never tested an OMP though.

^ depends on torso and leg length.
i like race tech but the seat cushion is too deal. i cannot bend my knees. legs way too short and the shoulder harness hole is below my shoulderblade! i am 5'9" the 9" is the leg length.

omp is good for long torso short legs as well as recaro. NEVER buy a seat until you try it.
randy, if you fit into the seat without crushing your *****, then it will be too lose when you are on track. if you are in pain and barely fit the seat, cone you make two fast corners, it will be perfect.
