usually by air to helmet, you need a coolshirt box or FAST box. normally you dont use just outside air.
if you run hans seats (elephant ears) then it's easiest to have air come in from top of helmet. if you dont run elephant seats, then either from side or from top is fine. but for a DE car (with interior intact) it's not going to be easy using coolshirt/FAST box. if you put box in frunk, you wont get air to it. if you put it in passenger seat area, well, you need to take out the passenger seat.
talk to your tech installer for ideas.
my 3.8 has full interior but on very days, i take the passenger seat out and mount the cool box there so i can suck in fresh air and cool it through the box then into my helmet.

According to Linda @ Apex, air from the top works best. Since they they can modify the helmets in house,
I bought mine nearly naked, except for Eject and quick HANS.
We used the Parker Pumper on a Class 9 rail 20 years ago. Its purpose was to filter the dust out of the air; it did nothing for cooling. The (dry) air was blown through a low side feed into the lower face and mouth area... necessary, but not much fun. Hopefully that's not the way they work, today.
