I need some Advice on new tiers for my 2011 Gt3 RS, it seems that I'm limited to 2 options;
1) Michelin pilot sport cup+ / N-spec Track and competition DOT (originally equipped)
2) Michelin pilot sport "max performance"
what is the different between them??! There is over $ 750 difference in price between them but I don't know if its worth it..

Major difference....are they going to be used as street tires or track tires?
For street get the Michelin Pilot Super Sport....for track tires in 19" sizes look at the Pirelli Trofeo tire.

Are you referring to the michelin pilot super sport as the second tyre? And how do you use your car?
The MP sport cups are R comp tyres. They are semi slicks and intended for track use. No good in the wet...
The MP super sports are street tyres with good track ability... Great for wet weather too....
If your intended use is straight track and lap times are critical then use the cups...
If your intended use is street and a few track days a year and don't car about being the fastest, then super sports... Great all round tyres....

The sport cup is a better tire on the track, but for mostly street you would want the super sport tire.

...also if you are looking for track tire then there are much better tires that the Sport Cup + N Spec...that is a lousy tire.

OP if your second option is really "Pilot Sport" and not the "Pilot Super Sport" there's absolutely no comparison. The PS (or sometimes called PS1) is an outdated street tire.
But like others above I suspect you are referring to the newer Super Sports (or what we call MPSS). Depending on your use and laptimes that's actually a very balanced option.
If you track less than 3-4 times a year I'd say MPSS is the way to go. The compromise that comes with Cup+'s (heat cycle fatigue, horrid wet performance) doesn't justify the on-track benefits for the occasional tracker.

If using MRSS on the street (only) for my 2007 RS, would you alter the pressures (cold) from the OEM 29F/33R psi specification for the cup tires the RS is supplied with? I have read all the available posts through the search function, but the recommendations are all over the board from 28/29 up to 36/40. Are there any additional opinions as to what is a correct pressure for street use?
