Hi there! While I'm not available this Saturday (driving Sears with NASA) I'd be game for an outing in the future. I'd like to ask you about the "quality" of the road (up Mt. Hamilton, down the backside and then on to Patterson). It's been a long, long time that I've driven up Lick (I live on the Peninsula) but I am looking for a good road. My favorite road, Page Mill/Skyline, close and not too long, is getting terrible. I bottom out (don't like the noise of all my GT3 underneath plastic parts hitting the asphalt ) too many times and they just resurfaced Skyline and the debris is horrible...
So, how good is your route for a stock clearance GT3? Tx, Horst.

I was there in early September and it was gravel city as I was coming down from the Observatory towards San Jose, due to construction & repaving. However, I recently heard that individuals are reporting that Mt. Hamilton is much better. I guess I'll find out first hand this Saturday.

I've driven up Mt Hamilton Rd a month ago and some stretch of the road was under construction. However the good news is that the uphill side of the road is paved, making the road quite smooth.

CHP is patrolling this road, however, and I have seen one or two patrol cars. Don't go too fast.

I'd really love to cruise with you, but I'm still w/o tires after the debacle of Reno-Fernely!

The observatory is run by UC Berkeley, so the cops nearby are university cops. They are a profit center, so caveat emptor!

mooty, please tell me this happened while you were in front of a hospital and not some mountain road in the middle of no where...

If so, did you actually get a ticket?

Are you kidding me? Most of the Harley's passing thru there are blaring loud and they have the audacity to say your car is too noisy?

What kind of police state are we living in?
