i've only been tracking a few yrs but so far i've seen 2 sets of fiske's, 1 set of champions and 1 set of BBS cracked. like others have said, i also think it's extremely rare but nothing is perfect especially given the load they endure at the track. dont let it shake your confidence.

damn good that you caught it.

It is one of the reason's I don't like painted or powdercoated wheels. I once had a set that you couldn't see any cracks in (painted wheels) I stripped off the paint with aircraft paint stripper and found 2 spokes cracked, one almost all the way through.

This is also not limited to the name brands, al the wheels can eventually crack, for race teams wheels are consumable items.
In my case the paint actually tipped me off to the problem. I may not have noticed it if such a big chip of paint hadn't flaked off.

Do y'all think I should scrap the others or just buy a single replacement?

Would single piece carbon wheels be able to withstand such stresses better?

Having it crack all the way through was lucky (If finding a cracked wheel is lucky)

In the past I have just replaced the center, but if you are suspecting the other wheels could go as well then a full replacement set is in your future.

Id inspect all three 3 wheels and if good, then replace just one.
You may get warranty from the manufacture too

I take it that GMG isn't doing anything to support you!

Were those wheels powder coated? That process weakens aluminum forgings.

I have obviously read about this too.. but I have also seen many reputable race shops run race cars w/ powder coated wheels.. some wheel manufacturers also sell wheels w/ powdercoating as option as well.. I am assuming that when done right, it won't affect the integrity of the wheels.

I contacted CCW and immediately they had me send not just the one rear wheel but both for testing.
They sent me two new rear wheels free of charge right away.

The CCW wheels are so strong i now use them exclusively for tarmac rallying. My BBS E88's are just too soft for rallying as i go through lips like toilet paper...

The fact that CCW wheels are so strong and they stand behind there product no questions asked it is the most refreshing thing i have seen in the wheel industry.

If you have CCW you should be ok. If you have OZ, HRE etc you will have to let us know.
x10000. A couple years ago had cracks in 3 spokes on a Rear CCW. They were over 2 years old, but John at CCW did the same thing. Sent me 2 brand new rears and took the old ones back for testing. CCW customer support is phenomenal.

Umm, I wouldn't trust anyone to do it right. Fully stressed lightweight AL forgings getting tempered via baking, not a good idea. Painting them is okay, but powder coat, IMO not for track wheels. A crack in a spoke is a material failure, if it was powder coated, the process is in all likelihood directly responsible for the failure. There is no other obvious damage to the spoke and it looks like it cracked from the inside.

Not sure. Does powder coating come off in big flakes?
