How do you use your GT3 / RS: track toy, street machine, or both?
#18
In order; street, backroads driving (a few 700km round trips) & track.
I want to start tracking more but my work/personal schedule leaves very little free time, otherwise I'd be going through a lot more tires.
This is the best dual purpose car available hands down!

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the insight. That's exactly what I was looking for. Will never be using this as a daily driver, but I do want to enjoy regularly off-track too. Already drooling over getting on COTA, but Austin has some great hill country roads I plan on playing on as well so I don't want it to become a garage queen when it's not on the track.
The poll results are pretty interesting so far though. A large number of drivers (based on this wholly unscientific poll) are primarily using the car on the street with a little track time thrown in. I thought the 'track rat' category would make up a much larger percentage.

both of mine are track only weapons. when i first got the 2010 gt3 i put 3000 street miles on it. now it has almost 19k it - 16k track! RS bought strictly for track, never been street driven since i got it.

Primarially track at this point. It's got 13k miles in 28 months or so. I use occasionally on the street but it's pretty compromised as a street car between the noise, the ride height and the general rubber-necking it causes.

The only thing that prevents me in using it in places other than my long commutes (often at times when there are very few cars) is the fact that the rubber necking does bother me. I tried to avoid seeing other drivers but often times it is hard to do that and just watch straight ahead. I very much wanted my wheels to be red so you can only imagine

That said I bought it for me, not anyone else. I only drive it on the weekends and expect to put in 6-10 track days a year. It's a very fun and engaging car regardless of how you use it.

Just got my new to me RS a week ago and have been amazed at the rubbernecking. People pull along side and give a thumbs up, or take cell phone pictures, or shout out positive comments. It does make you a bit self conscious.

currently using my 6gt3 mostly on track, 30track days this summer.
i can't enter my condo's garage so its a real pain to use it on the street as i always have to pick it up an drop it up at my work.

Plus, I have the Carbon Sport Bucket Seats, with a six-point harness and a rollbar. However I must add that the Front Lift System is highly recommended for street use.
DISCLAIMER: My GT3 is my weekend canyon road car with 99% pleasure miles, not because it can't be used daily, but because I choose to use the transportation system provided by my employer. On occasion I had my share of Costco / Sam's Club run without issues.
