A good group to run with here in Seattle area is Turn2 Lapping, we have about 7-8 GT3's that run in this group and more come down from Vancouver, so getting a bunch of us out there in A (we run ABC all solo, 30 minute sessions) shouldn't be an issue.

I can get in touch with Tom and discuss days for the Ridge... During the week is typically when we end up running, track costs less and you weed out the less "dedicated"...

i think between ncrc and trackmasters they will do it. i know ncrc do host for motorcycle clubs sometimes and trackmasters hosted for ferrari niello.
if hod, it will just end up overpriced. clubs like ncrc and trackmasters just as safe and cost less.

Just came back from Thunderhill this weekend- what a great high speed track!

But driving back from the weekend and the experience gave me time to reflect on what we need to do:

#1- It has to be an open lapping day event. We traveled too far and too long to hang around waiting for our run group. I don't care how "great" the club is, when you spend all the money and time to get there, the last thing you want to do is waste time waiting for a 20 minute run session.

#2 - See above- the other problem with clubs that have run groups are the rules involved to get signed off to drive by yourself or to be placed in the advanced group. In some cases it's just ridiculous and people dig their heals in etc, etc. Just read the Mancation thread to see what happens when well experienced sportsman are stymied by well intentioned, conservative volunteers following rules written by volunteer lawyers. Same issues happened to us over the weekend. We survived but our experience could have been better.

#3- We should organize the series by region, with a regional organizer and a "run off" at a neutral location. I think Reno is a good location for the end of the year run off.

#4- Regions could be: PacNW, NorCal, SoCal, Nevada?

#5- No more than 4 regional races, plus the runoff. Try to set dates allowing out of region travel.

#6- Points count towards enough races that you will need to make at least one or more out of region race to be champion, and double points for the run off so we all get together to chase each others *** at the end of the season.

Thoughts?

Volunteers for regions?

I will volunteer for PACNW...

Maybe we should take roll call to gauge interest before we go much further- this thread has been stagnant for a week, so maybe that's the next move.

Let's get some feedback and then I'll start a roll call thread if we can agree on the basic structure.

Someone needs to volunteer to organize in Cali and contact the various groups, and see what makes sense regarding costs and dates.

Agree. Fun...but mot that fun and big pucker. In miata with cage...mo problem going flat out. In RS i pull way back and lap times are relatively mich slower than at other tracks.

My LEAST fav tracks in socal are WS and autoclub...but that seems to be where POC and PCA go most

Chuckwalla and Buttonwillow way more fun and interesting. If you have not been to chuckwalla - GO!
