Front Trunk Stripped
#2
Less than 8 lbs, not including the toolbox. The toolbox is 9.5 lbs with the goo bottle and tools, everybody removes this toolbox on track days anyway.
IMHO, not worthy to strip the trunk.
The interior carpets, airbags, glovebox, door panels, rear side panels, well, there is close to 100 lbs in there, but end result is an ugly looking interior.
To save 100 lbs, erase the side mufflers, go Ti for the center muffler, PCCB, and done deal. If another 100 lbs are needed to go, Li-Ion battery + Magnesium BBS wheels + light seats.
Rollbars (not rollcages) can be in between less than 20 lbs and more than 60 lbs depending on brand.

Can't remember if I pulled the toolkit or not to be honest. I'm adding that rennline fire extinguisher/mount to my passenger seat, so I'm just seeing if I can pull that weight back out.
I have no desire to lighten the front any further, I run the stock battery on purpose.

to me the biggest advantage of gutting the front trunk isn't the weight saving but the space you get to carry stuff - it is a huge positive
when I drive to the track, i carry 2 refueling gas tanks in the front trunk and refuel them just before I get to the track
the space is created because those of us that do not have the extra sound system stuff have a huge piece of foam filling the bottom 6-8 inches of the trunk under the carpet - with the carpet removed and this piece of foam out, it is amazing what you can store in there - trust me it is worth it

weighed all the plastic, tools, shelf, pump, etc... 18# I was surprised.
Was on a mission cleaning up brake fluid and got carried away...
paver, sorry but yes pull harder with constant pressure, they used bugger glue and it will slowly let go.
