Default 991 S - Nurburgring - 7:37

FASTER THAN A SPEEDING F430 SCUDERIA!!!!

Now THIS is impressive. A little sloppy, but the fact that he stays in it doesn't cost him much time, but they did it just like a DE. Get in and go. No roll bars and all kinds of stuff on the car, just car, driver, go fast.

About freaking time Porsche put a video up! This combined with the news from CTSCC about the 991's about to dominate makes me really high on the 991. Mezger or not, it's going to be a beast.

I may get one of these for the wife and bring it to torture DE cup with when I'm not Time Trialing.

It is impressive. Car is reportedly not equipped with the powerkit either! It is said to have the sports exhaust and PDCC, PASM though. And obviously PDK. Imagine what the GT3 and GT3RS will do.

+1 ^.

I hope the 991GT3 is offered with a manual option but if Porsche does not I'm beginning to understand their rational. This PDK is making upshifts at the apex of Aremberg and inside the Karroussell.

I'm afraid more and more that the GT3 will be more of a "GTS" than a GT3 - imagine a Carrera S with PDCC, PASM, super-dooper power kit giving 450+ hp, PCCB, quicker shifting PDK, some sound deadening, rear seats, etc. stripped out. It's the basic GT3 formula (lightweight, rear drive), but the incremental gains over the Carrera S will come through tech, programming, and a bit more hp, rather than a bespoke powerplant and gearbox with a true link to the race cars. People don't buy the GT3 for outright performance numbers, so whether or not it hits the marks that people expect (of course it will) is irrelevant and doesn't automatically qualify it as a worthy successor.

Is that your opinion or do you have info to support it?

The 991 GT3 and RS to follow will be incredibly fast with the PDK and probably easy to drive as well, that's for sure. It will have a huge following, but I am not part of the X-Box/PlayStation generation so it is not for me, I will always prefer a more analog feel...

Opinion; no solid inside info unfortunately.

And I hope I'm wrong. But think about the direction the company is taking, step back and think about it, and I think you'll reach a similar guess at what the new "GT3" will be.

This can just as easily be looked at as the base carrera being upgraded to have more in common to racing than the gt being down graded. The 991 cup and rsr will have the same motor, they have to fit homolgation, so the point about link to racing is moot.

As it appears the 991 will demolish all previous generations, and people will buy that. You can count on it.

Way too fast for just 3 point belts and an open face helmet...

I guess I'm missing something. Quicker shifting, faster, more power, lighter weight...hate when that happens.
