Hello guys, there is drone in low rpms, but def. not excessive by any means. Trakcar can chime in as he had this conversion before the M&M exhaust.

Absolutely nothing close to straight pipes, as you still using the OEM center muffler.

Jamie, yours can't be used as comparison, as you had a cracked center muffler, that by the end of the trip became a few YARDS long lol.

Guys, I'll be happy to PM, as I don't want to brake any forum rules at this point, that is the reason why I didn't post it here first....

Really cool kit! The block off plates are a neat trick.

I just went with the Cup center muffler and Cup side deletes and you are correct in that it is an expensive route. I had to try it however

I was using Fabspeed side deletes with my stock center all summer with good results.

My fabspeed side deletes are going up for sale now if anybody wishes to try them.

I have the side muffler deltes with Fabspeed. Between about 2600-2900 RPM the drone is pretty bad. It's worth it though for the weight, heat and sound benefits.

Steve, drove your car, your set up really drones in lower RPMs. The design of the pipes is a little bit different, that being said this are not as bad, but they do drone.

For those looking for a drone free side muffler delete solution, you can go with the new M&M system, that I first tested 4-5 months ago.
Completely drone free system, and affordable.

I had had these..The setup is much quieter then just a center bypass that is unplugged.

The sound is not nearly as nice as a Sharky center bypass. Nothing beats the sound of OEM side mufflers unplugged with a Skarky, sounds nice at start up and just barks louder and louder in a very pleasant way all the way up the revs...

If you need the adjustability to make them quieter you can leave the valves plugged in and just add a center bypass, but I hate that artificial on/off that the valves do, so i always drove with the valves unplugged. At that point the 2 side mufflers just become 50lbs of dead weight behind the axle radiating a crap load of heat to the tires, engine etc.. I thonk the car runs a little cooler without side mufflers.

So I gave up nice sound for wait and heat reduction. You do get some drone when the car is cold and below 2500 - 3000 RPM but it is not crazy bad, you can kinda drive around it. With windows open it is actually almost gone. With windows closed at a constant 2700RPM you will lose the will to live, just drive around it, plenty of gears to choose from and remember overall the car is much quieter and probably a little too quiet for my taste over 3000RPM.

Now I have the same setup but with an M&M muffler instead of the stock one, more expensive solution but no drone and I little more deeper noise up the rev band.

Here's a clip of 997 headers and 2010 CUP muffler. It's essentially the same as buying these bypasses and plugs... I personally LOVE the sound. Of course, the additional displacement does make it sound meaner than any 3.8.

I have the Supersprint version of these with my Yellow RS's headers and center box on my 6GT3 Track car. Dyno'd it after fitting the exhaust and before any other mods and it made 12hp at the rear wheels more than the stock 6GT3 exhaust. Of course the 6GT3 stock exhaust and headers are not as good as 997 RS stuff is, but I thought that was pretty neat given it was all OEM parts.

It sounds awesome, we stopped by Orbit the other day and listened to your exhaust, when they were working on your car. Very nice set up. Car looks as good as it did at RA.

Mission accomplished, took about 3 hours but that's because neighbors kept coming over grunting their approval and drinking some Sam Adams while I had the car in the air. Degree of difficulty is a 1 or 2 out of 5. It's just taking off some bolts and then re-tightening them, there is really nothing to it. I also removed the the stock TI rear muffler and replaced it with a stock steel muffler to save the unobtanium TI muffler. Very easy job and parts fit perfectly.
