Default 997.2 GT3 Service

I purchased a 2010 GT3 last October with around 1,800 miles. It's really a weekend driver so I put very few miles on it. I put on maybe 1,000 miles but let's call it 1,500 miles. Do I need to get the car serviced (oil change, etc.) this October (1 year anniversary) or can I wait a little bit? If I need to get it serviced, what am I looking at as far as dollars and what's involved? Do I let the dealer dictate what's needs to be done or do I tell them what I want done?

Thanks in advance.

I was recently quoted $950 for the scheduled minor service (oil change, fluid top off, etc)

Just bring it to the dealer once a year for an $200.00 oil change to make sure you are doing required maintenence for warranty. You need nothing else for street driving and storage.

Does the service need to be performed by a Porsche Service center at a dealership to maintain the warranty or can I have an independent mechanic do it as long as I have a record of the invoice?

Technically if you show the invoice of an independant shop it should be OK, but at GT3.2 says, for the extra $100.00 better do it at the dealer and throw them a bone once in a while.

I like to keep the maintenance up with a dealer and get the service log kept current... useful for the next guy

Nope, there was a couple of years ago but considering his car has travelled so little and he bought it it second hand, he should check original owner had it done....
