I like to stay at am-tiergarten, close to the track, and plenty of good bier and steak on a stone in the evenings! Blau Ecke is also nice ... but a bit further away from the action!

So how was it?
It rained the previous night- fog when we got out of bed turning into fantatic weather -sun and around 20 degrees C by the time we arrived at the Ring.
only 80 or so P-cars with at least 4 RLs in attendance plus a couple of instructors, guides and 1:1 coaches.
the format is "open track" so anyone goes out whenever and as long as they wish. the first few hours were very relaxing... with the track being a bit moist.
but before the action really started my clutch broke, ie i could not push beyond the first 10 cm
The Manthey crew took it to their garage for an inspection (from the outside) and after flatbedding it to the nearesr Porsche dealership it has confirmed today that the throw-out lever and bearing are broken.
am now awaiting to hear from Porsche how this will be covered by the warranty (which i just extended for 12 months after the initial 2 year period).
i am sure that others had tons of fun on track ... whereas i enjoyed meeting and chatting to fellow RLs ...and of course the hospitality provided by the Manthey team

Yes, warranty.
The good news is that the replacement parts are the superceding 4.0 clutch and PP part numbers. the 3.8RS part numbers have been taken off the shelf..
They all break on the 3.8RS.

+1 again for Rennlist as it allowed to me to meet Markus and put a face to a name with some other members on this forum at the event. Markus knows the Nordschleife quite well and is a very good driver, I couldn't have gotten more lucky that day having him as a guide/coach. Unfortunately, I was following him down Döttinger Höhe after only our 4th or 5th lap of playing cat and mouse when he hit the hazard lights and pitted on account of the clutch going. FWIW, there were at least 4 RS 4.0's in attendance getting used the way they were intended but IR_Fuel said he counted 5 of them! I've never been to a DE with so many beautiful and well prepared P cars (both new and old)---a track day I will not soon forget.

My apologies in advance, I am a terrible picture taker and to be honest I was so interested in what was happening, driving, etc...I rarely reached for the camera. One of MM partners is a great motorsports photography shop called, Frozenspeed. I'm waiting for professional images from them and when I get them I will post some.
Re: the pic's., I found the dive planes on a 997.2 GT3 to be interesting because they were true Cup Car planes that as you can see are screwed not glued to the front. The support truck did everything from change tires to repair a blown coolant hose on a 997.2 GT3 that was back out on track doing laps the same day. The MM440 as seem in the MM video on it's home page made an appearance with it's owner, I found the details on this car to be really impressive.

The stuff that really mattered:
Oh yeah, there were some P-cars too if I recall correctly.
And I can confirm the 4.0 does grow on trees @ the MM trackday. I think they handed them out for free but I seem to have missed that day
