2011 GT3 RS Shocks/Springs - How much are they worth?
Hey guys I have a set of 2011 GT3 RS shocks/springs. Original 4000 miles on them. I'm really not sure what they are worth and I'm simply looking for a fair price on them. Can anyone help on a price? Or make a reasonable offer?
Thanks.

probably not much unless someone took them off their car and is now trying to return it to stock prior to sale ...

Having been one of the few people to buy, and revalve used OE shocks, and also with experience having done this on other cars, the answer is much less than retail value - for many reasons it just is.
From memory, and getting a good deal from your parts guy, I think new they are 'around' $600 each = $2400 for a set of 4.
My best guess would be 25-30% of new price - if you can find a buyer.
There are 2 likely buyers:
1) someone in an accident - likely only needs 1 shock - that's your problem
2) someone like me who wants to do a re-valve and logistically it is easier to buy all 4, send them to bilstein for revalve, takes a few weeks with turn around - and then install with new springs.
Buyer #2 will have shipping costs to and from Bilstein - somewhere between $150 and $300 depending on speed. The revalve / re-build / test is all in $200 per shock. Add 4 springs, 4 helpers and a rear upper Tarett Strut mount ($550) and you are done. Therefore, shipping + revalve + new springs = $1600 + your 4 shocks for sale.
The price of your used shocks thus has to make the value of $1600 + $X worth buying. So, to the right buyer, you can likely get around $600.
If you can get more than that you are doing well.

Big karma points for a well-grounded contribution to the forum. Some folks are takers, this is the objective, factual post of a giver
