calipers smoked, i think
I had the calipers pulled while in for service so i could ship them off for refinishing. When my tech pulled the front pads we found melted seals and tons of play in some of the pistons. The brakes on the car were SHOT when it got here.
Im thinking I need some new ones but Im not sure. Is there a rebuild kit that would save me any money over replacing when you figure in parts labor and the refinish.
Better yet, does anyone have a pair of like new fronts for sale? Is there a better option? The car has worn out Girodiscs on it now with a new set in the mail but I am open to options.
Thanks

That's normal. My car has no rubber seals, just get the puck retainer clips so you don't have to fish out the picks when they fall in the rotor.
If you want your car to become and stay a show car you can get them repained and just put new rubber in. No "rebuild" needed.

They are pretty well beaten so a refinish is an easy $200 to figure out. Should the rubber seals be replaced or are the no big deal? Some of the pucks seemed firm and some you could move all over the place.

all due respect, you'll likely get nearly nothing under warranty on those seals or paint - warranty and brakes rarely go together. of course your mileage may vary.
that said, on my PCCB's I cracked a piston from heat on the top of the caliper. if you've got them apart, check those pistons on the face to see if they crack. if they do, they will apply force to the pads unevenly and one side of the pads will gouge into the rotor...

melted seal are normal on track cars..... they are nice to keep the dirt out but most go without.
the heat dries them out and then they crumble apart.
I wouldnt even repaint.... just a good wash, some new seals, calliper studs and back on the road
