For the common good of the community?
I think I know what to do but have never tried it and don't want to screw it up. Can you do it w/o a pad spreader? What are the pucks that I hear are a pain if they come out?

If one of the Florida boys comes over (DEPUTY DOG COUGH COUGH).....I will make one.
It is real simple
The pistons in the caliper have a ceramic insulating puck that is held in by a rubber seal. If your car is exercised properly the rubber seal melts....so when the pads come out the pucks fall out. This is teh biggest pain in the *** part....holding the pucks in and putting pads in. Orbit sells two spyder clips on a common shaft that you stick into the puck / piston so they stay put. The spyder clips are a must have, so if you do not habe them PM Orbit and order some. It is not hard if you do not have spyder clips.....but I cuss a lot when someone does not have them. Below is a pic of the yellow pucks we talk about
You do not need a pad spreader, but it makes the front six piston changeout much much easier. I use the Girodisk pad spreader.....fo teh rears I just use my fingers and cuss a lot.
you also should order Caliper studs......the bolt that goes into the aluminum upright is garbage....and will strip
Once you have it down front pads are a matter of a few minutes to change and rears are only 5 min max per side (after wheels off)

I have one more day on my front rotors that will be used up on the 18th. After that, I smell a lesson from the Greek in my garage or from Izzone in his garage. (with beer)

Deputy Dog...we should have done a video 2 weekends ago at my house!
I'm going to do a video on how to disassemble Center Locking Nuts, clean them and grease them and how to properly torque Center Lock wheels. That might save some people car damage around here!

Greek doesn't work on his car, he waits till he gets to the track and something breaks and lets someone feel sorry for him and they do the work.

everything turns into a bash the Greek thread.
I just noticed that the rear caliper doesn't even have the pad retainer bolt. Now I have to buy a torque wrench...3/8 or 1/2 drive? How much should the nuts holding calipers be torqued?
