Default hello new member :) couple of question's

Hello everyone! I'm a new member and just recently added an .2 997 gt3 rs to my garage..... I love the look and feel of this car .... Never felt anything like it b4 .... I'm not looking to track the car this year .... The car is fairly new got it wit 310km and put about 1000km on it. I wrapped the front of the car in 3m and it came out great! Will post pic's later. The car came with an aftermarket exhuast but can't figure out the name of it!. I will post pic's later . I've been reading a lot on the fourm and kinda getting nervous about the car. What should I look out for ?? I know CL's have lots of issue's plus cooling ... Should I worry if the car is "only" street drivin?? I do like to have fun here and there. So should I still worrie ... Also got my first nail on my sport cup's !! Pffffffffffff kinda mad about that . But nothing more I can do! But fix it .... I will have a local tire shop swap it out cuz there 10x cheaper from porsche. Thanks PHIL

Welcome.

We don't save money on tires or anything safety related.
Make sure that the shop is good and then cheap.

Get a fresh alignment for the car. Street driven or not.

Stop worrying and go drive.

local tire shop and centerlocks may be of some concern...
in my experience the local porsche dealer will accept tires from Tire Rack and is reasonable about mount and balance etc..

just a thought

i regularly have dealership mount/balance my race tires on aftermarket wheels. they have done great work and price is reasonable. local tire shops (not race shops) did terrible balancing and put huge scratches in wheels.

best to have a Porsche shop deal with the CLs ... you do not want some independent that has never handled them to deal with them ...

Center Lock and local tire shop ==> Expensive disaster almost guaranteed.

Do a reading and search on CL, have it done properly.

Personally, I don't plug tires, I want to minimize tire failures for my own and others safety.

all the bits in the box/photos look like the cars factory exhaust system: ctr muffler, side mufflers and the sport exhaust bypass valves etc ... which I think then means that the car must have a pretty interesting after-market system installed!!!

Looks as though everything from the cats back has been replaced given what OEM parts you have in the boxes ... will need pictures of the ctr muffler and side cans (if any) to tell what the provenance of the installed system is ...

agreed, either wheels f***ed up, or worse CL failure while driving!
