Default WTB: 997 GT3 Street Intake Cams

Looking for a set of 997 GT3 street intake cams. Anyone have a set or know where would be best to look?

I'm still searching for specs on 997.1 vs 997.2 but does anyone know if there were any changes that accompanied the bump up to 3.8L? What about differences between 997.2 GT3 and GT3RS?

Thanks!

I just had the intake cam on the right side replaced on an 07 gt3. Mine was sourced from the dealer so I have no suggestion on parts but I'm curious, did you have a problem with the cam that caused the check engine light to come on?

I have a feeling you're not looking for the cams but the VARIOCAM actuators associated with the intakes?

The cams are what they are--steel rods with lobes. Rarely wear out and if they do break your engine would've likely grenaded with them.

The actuators in question are 997.105.051.91 (Parts 5 in diagram). If they are indeed faulty you should get a "Cam Actuator, Bank #1/2" code in PIWIS.

If the .1 street cams are in fact what you are looking for, I'd contact Sharkwerks. I'd imagine they have a few around.

Thanks for the responses guys. I actually don't have a 997 but rather a 996 with a 4.0 and 997 cup heads. Right now I'm just running the street 996 GT3 cams but am looking at a few alternatives. What's nice about the street 997 GT3 intake cams is that the lift was increased over the 996 but I can still use variocam. I have thought about going to cup cams but don't really want to use the low end provided by variocam as I still drive it around the street. The street 997 GT3 exhaust cams are the same as what is used in the 996. My other option is going to a custom grind. Just not sure what I'm going to do yet.

BTW, the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 cams are the same.

FLA997 - good call on Sharkwerks. I'd imagine they have to have a few lying around from conversion such as yours. I'm assuming you didn't get your stock cams back when you did the conversion? Or I wonder if they actually just have them ground? Hmmm.
