Doc GTO:
For your 997 Turbo you need the following:

Hats: 219.157.273.13 PFC V2 Porsche Turbo all wheel drive front hat

Rotors: Slotted-378.32.0060.45 Left front, and 378.32.0060.46 Right Front

Or Dimpled: 379.34.0066.85 Left Front , 379.34.0066.86 Right Front

If I can be of further assistance, please PM me at your convenience.

Kind regards,

Figured it out... https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...clunk-diy.html

Randy or anyone else, can someone explain how does the bevel washer prevents the rotor from floating. If I'm looking at the design properly and understanding correctly the bevel/belleville washer goes in between the hat and the hold down ring. Therefore it creates even more space between the hat and the ring, which I would assume creates even more space for the rotor to float/clunk.

I'm having a hard visualizing how that would stop the floating. I have washers sitting in my garage and contemplating putting them in but wanted to check before doing so. By the way I'm talking about the V2 slotted rotors, not the V1/direct drive ones which use the bobbins.

Reter had dimpled on his car for the first set (he now runs slotted). The rotor cracked all the way through before the dimples were gone.

I believe the dimpled is more of a street version, slotted more of the track version.......this is what a PFC engineer told me at PRI. For 997.2 GT3 the dimpled and slotted fit in this hat. The dimpled takes a larger pad, since swept area is slightly larger

For .2 cars slotted and diimpled use the same hat. If you remove the bevel washer it is a floating, if you keep the bevel washer in it prevents them from floating

PFC makes a rear brake hat (works with parking brake), but only sells it with a dimpled rotor....not seperate. So I stick with 997.2 turbo rotor

If anyone is wondering why my hat is gold......Reter and I had the two prototype PFC hats from Orbit

OK so a couple years later what's the experience with PFC slotted race rotors? How many track days (TD) are you getting out of the rotors? How long have the hats held up? Still using them?

My StopTech rotors were good for 24-30 TD but a couple times hats were shot when rotors were shot so needed full replacement. The cheap ATE rotors came in at hefty 26.5 lbs but lasted 50 TD DE and 28 TD with mix of DE and race. Considering PFC or AP for next season to reduce weight.

Appreciate any further input based on your experience. Thanks.

I stop eating candy for 2 days and use the 90 dollar heavy rotors which outlast all the fancy ones

Sorry I can't help as I moved to GiroDisc. I really like the PFC setup but there are 2 reasons I switched to Giro:

1. The inability to use stock pads for street driving on the PFC
2. The lack of a rear setup as they do not have a hat that will clear the e-brake. Sorry but I'm not giving up my ebrake on a street car.

I took my PFC set off and now they just sit in the garage as very expensive paperweight

LVDell, thanks for the feedback. Any chance you weighed the Giros?

So a bit heavier than the AP and PFC rotors but not much. My ATEs weighed 26.3 after 28 track days - didn't weigh them new.

Correct, it appears that the Giros are ~ 1/2 pound heavier than PFC.
