I tried the F430 when I bought my Gallardo. Guess what the Gallardo didn't last 35 days in my garage.
The F430 would last 15... drives like crap.
But I'm a narrow minded guy that knows nothing about cars. F430 is one of the best looking cars IMO.

@Rad, first the 430 is a street car. Not a track car, the rest of the stuff you mentioned is not common on cars that are not tracked except the muffler brackets. It is not a car to beat on. Personally I think your scud is a hair shirt. Loud, noisy, etc. if you like that fine. A 2008 is a desirable car. All of them came with ceramic brakes. Most people who trash an 430 have not driven one much less owned one. I owned and drove one for four years. Your scud is worth about 185 or so off prob a 330 retail. My 07 was 195 and today would bring 145. So much for holding value. No production cars hold value. I love Porsches but they have their issues too. I agree Cali is a chick car.

I tried to buy one, as I love the looks, fist couldn't fit properly, secondly drove like crap. Bought the Gallardo .... big mistake, saw the light, bought a GT3RS, happy again 
What's the purpose of buying a car that can't be driven ??? No track ????
Buy a CL65 ... big comfy, pretty, fast, has *****, and can be driven everyday Street cars don't need to handle like Porsches... if they do, you buy Porsche, not a Porsche replacement

The thing downshifts so hard that it even locks the rear tires under heavy braking, and it accepts a downshift even if it lands a tad over the rev limiter, downshift throttle blips are an aural experience.
I had dct in the m3 v8, drove 997, 997s, 987, 987s, italia, all of them with pdk/dct and they are boring, feel like camry.
My favorite cars are the ones that feel furious even at 35 mph, my 996 gt3, 997 gt3 rs, s2000, and the king of all, scuderia.
If you want manual tranny, no Fiat option for you, get a 2010 gt3, you will love it, and it performs massively better than ant F430.

I am a relatively new owner of a GT3 and I also have a Scud. I love them both. Like they are both SICK amazing cars. My brother has a 430 spider and I drive it often. I would only buy a standard 430 if you want a spider. Prices on the 16M are up there. The 430 is a beautiful car with the top down but it breaks all the lines of the car with the top up.

The tranny is bliss. It gives you the sensation of a F1 car when you want to turn up the excitment, yet you can drive it on the street with a coffee in your hand like an automatic when you want.
If you had a Scuderia with the same mods of NJ-GT you would be in your happy place
You would be the coolest F430 when getting serviced at your local dealer too
Serious machine.

And it has been doing this for 3 years, 13,000 miles , in the original clutch, tranny, diff, engine, axles, hubs, bearings. I'm about to replace wheel bearings, re-lubricate bushings, as part of the first maintenance, everything else has been fluid changes.

Always loved my GT3s - great value, extremely reliable, and always feel completely connected to the car. Never been a Fiat driving experience except for the 458. Liked the look of the 430 and Scud, but didn't care for the driver experience. Nothing replaces the feeling of a properly executed heal-toe downshift!

Avoid F430, unless you get a 2008 or 2009. Given the price difference between the 08/09 F430 and the 08/09 Scuderia, the Scuderia is a no brainer decision.
The mechanical differences and improvements made to the Scuderia are just too long to list.
The Scuderia could become the cheapest car you could own, as it is keeping great resale, and it only asks for fluid changes if not tracked.
I test drove a few F430 before buying the Scuderia, and back in the day I was not aware of the reliability issues in the F430 with: brakes, e-diff, F1, cracking headers, cracking muffler mounts, motor mounts, wishbone bushings, clutch life, transmission cooling and engine cooling.
Of course, a garage Queen that gets driven to a local cars and coffee, not tracked, and polished on a daily basis, very likely will be very reliable, but such usage would make a Ford Pinto and a Yugo very reliable too.

The Scuderia's are getting cheap around here, pretty much the same price as a 3.8 RS. The regular F430s are pretty much selling for GT3 3.6 levels, too many cheap cars being imported from Italy.
