Yes, I want an RS. I am at a different stage in life now than I was when I bought the GT3. Horstair, RL or not, I want an RS and I talked myself out of it a couple years ago. Am I bored with the GT3? nope. Am I slow in the GT3? Depends who you ask. You guys are right - I need to decide of the delta in price is really worth it.

When I drove the GMG GT3 RS, it was just so right. The best decision financially is to hold on to my GT3 and mod a little here and there, no doubt. Ask me in 5 minutes, my mind may change again!!

This is fun by the way. Keep the comments coming. I don't know what I'll do.
stop lying.
just buy the fkg rs.
drive it. if you dont want it sell it.
you might end up losing your shirt, but you will have it out of your system and live happily ever after. and i am not joking.

I'm rather enjoying observing this process.
I've been looking for scud as well, don't get me wrong. However, that one is overpriced especially for having more than 10k miles and not being red. If I buy an F-car, it will be an addition, not a replacement to my GT3 or RS.

At this specific moment in time, 11:08 pm my time, I'm keeping GT3 and continue to kick *** at the track.

Ok, i did not do my homework - didnt realize that car was so set up.

I guess if you have the bug that bad, and if you can reasonably comfortably absorb the added cost/loss....sure, why not, do it.

Too bad though you cant get the stock parts.

I want a 4.0 or 991 RS ultimately, but none readily available. I drive my cars, no collector here. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

u asked.
if you have a 100k budget. buy a 150k car.
then you are out 150.
otherwise, you will end up buying a 100k car.
sell it lose 30k
then buy 150k car.
end up out 180k.
i have proven this over and over again.
i think i am buying a F1 car next (not the tranny, but a F1 race car. perhaps that way i will save money lmao)

and to further prove my point, you are just about to do what i said ....

Agree, Mooty. It's so much driver-dependent. I've seen RS-drivers "crawling" around Laguna and then I've seen 996GT3's kicking everybody's behind...
There's always going to be s.th. newer and better. If you're at the "capability" limit of your car, it's time to upgrade. If you're not (like I am -still having to learn so much to fully explore the "normal" GT3) than maybe wait a little longer. We don't know where kyrocks is on that "capability curve" but if he's has got the dough, maybe he should just get the RS and enjoy.

I think you gave yourself the answer with this response
Go find your RS, just be picky

Yes, you fail your homework.

That's the only reason I really considered this car. It is set up well. Mods I would do (ok maybe not all of them). I always care a little about resale because I know I'll turn it over sometime for something better, but hey, the dealer said they'd buy it back, no problem!

I was being sarcastic. I couldn't find the "sarcastic" icon.

That's okay :-) I still think if you want an RS, now is the time before more of those fancy 991's show up in thousands... I had an 07S and thought I was completely happy... but than I made the mistake to test-drive a GT3. The rest is history. Good luck in your search. Horst.

my crystal ball is cloudy lately. but if i had to guess the 991 GT3 will help stablize value for current GT3 variants.

look at the price of 991 today. how much do you think 991 GT3 and RS will cost? $200k?
i dont know. as much as i love to throw money out the door and worship porsches, i dont think i will cross the $200k limit on p cars, short of CGT.

I agree, $200K seems like the number it will be at least as fast as a 4.0

Mooty, you've probably hit the "nail" on the head. I wouldn't be surprised if the 991RS, if 4.0 and close to 500HP would be around the current 4.0RS pricepoint, maybe more. They'll bring out a re-hatched version of the 991S first as the "new GT3" with PDK next year with about 450HP and go from there. When I had my coolant system failure fixed (new known failure on GT3/RS as per the dealer...) today, I saw some $135K 991S's... :-(:-( Makes what we have quite precious, doesn't it?
