Craig, the part numbers I posted and that Dell has sited will work with 380/350mm rotor cars... 997.1 steel set ups and earlier were 350/330mm so the calipers are offset differently from the centre of the hub and studs will differ in length... Your connections will have to source the parts that the earlier cup cars with 350/330 mm setups were using....

Thanks Chris. I had this in mind when asking PMNA about the stud lengths and the response was that unless you have an RSR (fenders, only $4,200!), there are only 1 front length and 1 rear length, no others. Thus, the lengths from this discussion will be the same as Dell stated.

Not correct.

997.1 PCCBs and 997.2GT3 and RS are the same

997.1 GT3 non PCCB is different...

That's the reason why we tested, before we sell them.

Don't try throw me under the bus or make me your "expert" in your thread. Do your own research and then sell your own product. I never stated that. I simply posted a thread that stated what I bought for my car at the direction of PMNA. The part numbers are posted in my thread and they come from the 2008 Cup. If there is contrary evidence, cite the source. If there isn't, state YOU confirmed it through the appropriate expert.

As I said many times, I will do a DIY when I get back from VIR (next week) and at that point you will see what the studs I bought look like installed (and more importantly if they fit properly) on my car (997.1GT3 steel brakes).

Good post acadian, but it doesn't belong in this thread..

I will clean up Dell's caliper stud DIY thread from all the nonsense and move all relevant technical posts from members there.

A vendor's thread like this one, is just an advertising thread.
<And as a reminder to all our sponsors, each bump (or I sell this and that posts) in a thread, counts as a new thread. And vendors get 4 per month. No more, no less.>

This is Rennlist, and as long as the admin allows me to moderate, I won't let it become one of the "other" sites. The 90% advertisement, 10% user content sites that is..

Best,

This ended up being the most convoluted mental circle-jerk vacuum of time, and I still have no idea what are the correct parts to buy for a 997.2 GT3 RS.

For real? I posted the EXACT part numbers you need weeks ago in another thread AFTER they had been correctly fitted to my 997.2!!! The whole issue here has been a lack of share from some in the know about the 997.1 steel brake set up which is different to the rest of us!

Sorry. The DIY and parts info from users was very helpful.

I meant that as a statement regarding the back and forth with vendors. I'm just surprised members are providing better info than vendors on products, but maybe I shouldn't be.

That was very helpful. Thank you.

Ah, that is spot on and makes more sense. Totally understand your context now

By the way, as sad as it sounds, the members here are more knowledgeable than most vendors. Another reason why many come here first

I know, I know. Sorry! I meant to say it is frustrating that you couldn't call certain vendors in the first place and get the right info right off the bat...didn't mean you guys didn't post helpful info...

I really don't understand all the secracy to be honest. They are just readily available studs to make life easier for people, not some secret, prototype perforance part or special alignment to give someone an edge! Go figure!....
