Although it does say "One Lap" and Fiats are good for one lap but this a real long lap...plus Brock left out the cars and coffee meets.

Mid America recap

Morning session wet to drying track with Jon driving. We disconnected the sways but by the time Jon went out it was getting pretty dry so may have been better to leave them attached. Result was we were 27th fastest and got beat by a Honda minivan Afternoon session was dry and we finished 19th. We are now 16th overall and 13th in class.

As a side note when we ran Mid America in 2008 with my 05 6GT3 with Motons and Muffler delete Ian ran a 5:03.002 which would have placed him in 3rd in todays afternoon session.

Ex-Pat is doing very well also. The Oval incident was not really bad as the only damage was a slightly curbed wheel and a Cone Penalty. I talked to Carl and told him that he can still probably get close to a top 10 if he keeps driving the way he is. I have seen people dnf an event and still do really well.

Transit to Tulsa was easy and we arrived around 2115. Tomorrow is Hallett CCW which I am driving. I do have some experience there so hopefully we can claw our way a little further up the standings.

After being 11 th at autobahn it put me on a very wet track early in the morning for mid America. Had a horrible run with lots of slides. 30th. In the afternoon it was dry and we managed 9th, beating the 630 hp Turbo s. Well pleased.

Hallett today. Wish 85 gold and us luck.

There is no denying AWD is better on street tires, you can make the car loose and still stand on it exiting turns.

@ Cup of Coffee group.
Yep a top pro driver in a GTR which is basically made to compete in this sort of arena is going to be really hard to beat.

However the driver is more important than the car and Leh would win if he was driving a ZR1 or a GT2 so I'd say overall the driver/drivers are the difference makers and not the cars.

I lost my head this morning and went a little banzai. Went agricultural twice. Glad the splitter is flexible. Got 14 th but a little angry at myself. Second run was much better but results not out yet as slower cars still on track. In transit to High Plains CO. 618 miles.

In convoy with Catesby in GTR and M5 factory team.

Hardback, missed you at HMS for a while. I'll be back there soon. After I have slept for a month.

Interesting fact of the day: Best Western Hotel shampoo makes a great bug remover. The car smells nice too and is very shiny and more manageable.
