You can't have more fun with any other 200hp FE car.

Sounds great guys! Looking forward to it. I was around the ring with VW Scirocco last time and car feels very similar to my daily driver Mk6 GTI. Bet Clio Cup will be a better performer. Besides, I always wanted to drive cars that we cannot have it on this side of pond.

Will look out for the red GT3.

What if I did rent the car from one of the larger firms? How would they know?

They (Avis, Hertz etc.) hire photographers at the ring to look for you, mostly on weekends though. Also a new scheme that happened to me with Avis Koblenz last year (first time ever) is for them to make you sign a one page "Kontrakt" agreeing not to take the car to ANY racing circuit INCLUDING the "Ring". A contract violation will set you back Euro 6,000.00 When I saw that I decided to just rent at the Ring. Even without photographers, I wouldn't be surprised if they made sure that the car's NavGPS was ON at all times and all they would have to do is download it when you return the car...

Probably going a bit off-topic, but I've driven the following of my own cars there:

Porsche 993RS
Alpina B10 Touring
Porsche/Ruf 996GT2 Clubsport (630hp)
Alpina B5
M3 CSL
Nissan GTR R35

Fastest (and easiest to drive): GTR
Most Comfortable: Alpina B5
Scariest: GT2 in the wet, with no t/c and on R-tyres!
