Default Cutting Harness Shoulder Straps

I'm almost finished with my Recaro SPG XL Seat install. I've got my shoulder belts attached to my roll bar at the right length and want to cut off the excess 1-1.5' of strap material after the buckle.

What is the best way to cut it cleanly and singe the ends without making the end too thick to pass through the tight buckle opens?

Don't cut it, roll it up or let it hang

Thanks guys. I ended up rolling them up and zip-tying.

If you cut them, you need to hot melt the ends as belt manufacturers do. If the ends start to fray, the belts are compromised for safety and need to be re-webbed or thrown away. As stated above, we commonly let them hang or roll them up.
