GT3 Occasional Driver ?

I've yet to get mine to a track (hopefully this will change in 2012!), so the car is mainly an occasional daily driver and weekend car - i love it. It's tight, but comfortable. I have driven other 911's prior and post owning the GT3 and they all feel soft and less precise in comparison.

Some will argue against, I say YES, for sure...
By tracking it, you will appreciate what this car is capable of and what it was truely designed for but I'm with andrewgt3, there is no other car I would want to own for a weekender or an occasional daily driver... If you're not too precious about the noise and harder ride, the only other major consideration is ground clearance and the limitations it may impose as to where you can take it... Beyond that, they are amazing...

I just got a '10 GT3 last week and drove it 4 hours home. Quite honestly it isnt any rougher or unbearable than any other sports car. I could totally daily drive this thing.

I love both my GT3 and GT3RS. They are track cars that I can drive on street when necessary. But they are not comfortable to drive around town nor on long trips. Frankly, I feel like an idiot with the big wing on the back. I would prefer a 997S or 991S for daily/occasional street driving. Also, I don't get any thrill driving these machines on the street as they are nowhere near their limits of grip on regular street. When I do drive on street I am worried about LE too much to go fast.
But I would be up for an occasional fun-run with a group of GT3's on some twisty back roads (V1 on dash)...
If I ever gave up the track then I would sell both GT3's and buy two S's - one regular, one convertible .

The GT3 was built to be a driver. (has all the creature comforts)
In a subtle color it works quite well and I would even go as far as saying it would replace you 997 C2S. Sell it.

I dailly drive mine, and absolutely love it. Have yet to find a more fun car, anywhere near this price range.

I drove mine for 10 hours one day driving to RennSport last year. Then when I drove home the same thing. I drive it whenever I feel like it (which is everyday) and I too think that it is no more "harsh" than any other sports car. I am big on driving it just on the street. Why? Just the sheer quality of the thing.
I feel like I am driving a car of such a solid nature that I am glad just to drive it around the block. I do not need to be going ***** to wall everytime I drive it so just driving a "normal" speed is just as exciting as when I track it and beat it to death. THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER HAD!

I daily drive mine for months at a time. The car also makes an amazingly good GT car for cross-country travel. We've spent 7-8 hours in the car on more than a few occasions, and that's with SW bypass and RSS monoballs and links.
If I didn't live in SoCal, with those ridiculous drainage dips at intersections intersections (that keep trying to tear off the front splitters), I wouldn't even think about where/when I'm driving the car.
