Bought a tow vehicle
Traded in my ML350 today on a Ford F150 crew cab. Towing my .2 gt3 on a Trailex open, so not all that heavy, but with 4 extra wheels/tires, tools, dog, ..., well you all know the story. I didn't have much confidence. The Ecoboost has up to 11,300 lbs towing capacity! With gas prices, I opted for the 3.55 rear end, with 9,600 lb capacity. I can't wait to hook her up!

you're going to love the F150.
i have one with the 5.0L and the 3.73 gears. not brilliant mileage.
i kind of thought the factory max tow package came with the 3.73 rear. why did you select the 3.55? mileage?

Another member has the ecoboost and is towing about 7400lb at 65mph and get s 13 on the hwy. Not to bad.
Enjoy!
P.S. Edge has a new tuner out of the ecoboost and it makes 54 more bhp and they say it helps increase the mileage as well. You may want to check it out!

Exactly. I chose the better gas mileage with the 3.55 rear end and still have a 9,600 lb tow capacity. You are correct--the 3.73 gives you 11,300, but worse mileage. Even with an enclosed trailer in the future, 9,600 is plenty!

I know. AND, the near 450 fl lbs of torque from the V6 come at 2,500 rpm compared to the V8s 5,000 rpm needed for similar torque.
