Default Ordered BBS E88, TPMS question

Hi,

Just a quick question concerning TPMS.

Carnewal can retrofit the original TPMS sensors but for this he must widen the original valve holes in the rims.
Would you do this??

Thanks for the input.

For track wheels you need not bother with TPMS.

The practice is to turn off the factory system when running track.

The factory system is not a good devise to properly manage tire pressures.

Yes sure. I did it to my E88s. Super easy.

The 1st gen OEM TPMS sucks but still, for street driving, it's better than nothing.

(I have an aftermarket version btw)

It's fine for him to modify/do that. Although like most folks have said on the track the TPMS stuff is utterly useless!

.2 cars TPMS is very very accurate...saved my butt on the track already. I ran years with out TPMS and now I run with it...since the 2009+ 997 TPMS is accurate now even on the track I would rather run with it. If I was running a .1 car then it wouldn't bother me not not have it.

TPMS is not necessary or useful on track. I didn't do it to my E88's and did not miss it.

The second generation sucks as well.
I tried everything but rarely do I get a session with more then one wheel givving PSI's and after a few laps it all quites all together. Perfect on the street useless on the track, I think the sensors can't take the heat or vibration.

997.2 is much better TPMS system

there is no problem widening the holes as long as you properly deburr them once widened... 7/16 i think is proper TPMS size... deburr and done.

Gen 2 tmps works perfectly fine for me. Maybe I'm not driving hard enough, lol...

For a gen 2 car, i would widen the holes and run tpms...
