Default OZ Ultraleggera on Meteor Grey 997.1 GT3

Hi:

I just got these on with a set of Pirelli Trofeos. My OEM wheels are getting a little tired so I decided to take the OEM wheels off to preserve them.

Wheels came from Damon @ Tirerack, tires from Guy @ Big O. I had Eric at Bumperplugs paint a new set of GT3 caps Satin Black and do the GT3 lettering in Meteor Grey. The lug bolts are the longer black (GT style) bolts from Suncoast.

Nice, but the number of wheel weights in the last two pics freaks me out! See if you can have that one remounted 180 degrees, and/or check runout on the wheel rim and tire.

That is a lot of wheels weights! WOW! I have these OZ HLT cast wheels in the center lock version and they balance out with minimul weights. Also like Izzone said tape those weights down too. I use A/C duct foil tape....Home Depot/Lowes has it and it works perfect.

Keep us informed on how the Trofeo's do at the track.

My car's evil twin! (sans crappy centerlocks). Looks great, but I'm biased. So far after a bunch of track days, no issues with the wheels.

Weights are taped however the tech did not cover / overlap the weights on the front side. I noticed that also and will add some tape. I have the TPMS in the wheels so weight opposite of valve stems does not seem unusual to me.

Congrats on the new wheel setup. The car looks great and ready to attack the track! Looking froward to running laps with you soon. Cheers.

good to know about the weights being taped. I also run TPMS on my track wheels and don't have this amount of weights installed. Could just be the tire though as I've seen this amount of weights before on many quality track wheels.

I love those wheels and the car looks great!

It does seem like a lot of weight though. I've had 3 sets of those wheels and they always use minimum weight. 2 wheels even didn't need any weight. I would see if they car index the tire on the wheel and re balance.

996Toomey, will you be trailering or driving these Trofeo's to the track?
