I would be willing to wager, if you did indeed advertise on your vehicle and trailer, and didn't write off EVERYTHING, you would probably be okay.

I have a wrapped daily for my business. I write off all of that as it's my work vehicle. However, if you went with say 25-30% for a track vehicle and approached it from the advertising angle, I think you would be in good shape from everything I read. Of course, you'd actually have to advertise on your vehicle and trailer.

I'm sure there is a ruling somewhere on this...

Much like you can write of a certain percentage of your home office depending on its use.

Time to start generating customer testimonials: "I'm so glad I met ____ at the track. This company has changed my life. I am now a life long customer."

What about driving too and from? I get a ton of business play off my wrapped company cars. Nobody questions that.

bottom line of dealing with IRS is - you are considered guilty until proven innocent. so make sure you have all the proof you can have based on items mentioned above - responses from people whose business you got, ability to prove income received from that advertising, etc.
government sucks and any dealing with its worms sucks even more unless you are a halliburton class rig.
