Default Advice on upgrades to new 4.0

need some advice on upgrades to my 4.0RS. It has arrived at the dealer and is ready for tweaking before I pick it up next week.

Dealer has FVD rollbar for sale. Is this the OEM clubsport?. Came out of mk1 GT3 RS. Likely to fit? Wil it need welded plates? Likely to allow GT2 seats to go all the way back? I don't have a model number, yet.

Radar install. Already have valentine 1. They have recommended stealth passport install. I'm thinking having Valentine power run up to rearview mirror instead.

Have new RSS toe and drop links. Worthwhile upgrade now...or drive for a while and install later.

Clear Bra. I'm thinking full body xpel. Over decals?

Thanks for your help.

Clearbra for sure. Drive the car as is now, take your time. now, if you install a cage buy the OEM cage.

In my own opinion having a CLEAR BRA plus clubsport oem cage in the 4.0 would be very ideal. Paint silver or red and it would just set the car off like POP

Congratulations & Have fun and dont park the car near my house, unless you want to

Let me drive it for a few months to make sure everything is working ok. The sacrifices we have to make.

Def do the safety upgrades for the track b4 you go. e.g. cage, harness, etc. The 4.0 is so capable, I don't think I would do much else to it...just some good track rims and tires. Enjoy the point-by's.

Oh and protect the car with the clear bra in the right places. Over stripes has never been a problem.

Default In a similar position

I have an 11' RS and an 11' 4.0. Just had the passport hidden radar installed in both and recommend that over the window mount radar's. Much better precision in its ability to pick up radar than my Passport Redline's and false's significantly less. I also just had the RS wrapped (entire car, Xpel Xtreme) as a trial run for the 4.0 and I am afraid there is no way I would let it be on the 4.0. It's fine on my RS as its a daily driver but it would ruin the look of the 4.0 and would be to noticeable. Plus, my 4.0 is white, so when it yellows (they all do, I have tried all brands and they all do it) and you remove it, off come the stickers with it. I might be rare, but I like the stickers and they are around $5k for the set. Factor that into the cost of a re-wrap and it doesn't make sense.

At least not to me.

I've removed it on 2 cars with zero issues with the stickers.

Roger is Correct in that it should not remove the stickers are all. The adhesive is different on the products used for paint protection on cars. It is not has heavy as that used on the decals and will pull off without affecting the stickers. I just did my 4.0 with Lamin-X on the front of mine. With it you can't tell it has a paint protection on it. Looks great over the stickers and we had to correct some of the spots on the car after the initial install and it pulled up on problem over the decals.

Seth, I sent you an email. Who did your film? I am thinking of having it done to my 991 and SL65.

If it's from a 7.1 GT3 it should be 99758098602.

And it will have one rear tab per side for the door bars.

Well I personally had the stickers on the rear guards of my 4.0 already come off from film removal, so I am not risking it again. Let me know how they go after 3-4 years in the sun. I hope I am wrong.

Either way it is a risk. Stickers will get destroyed without some protection in heavily exposed areas.
