It is hands down the best Hpattern shifter on the market! The height is perfect, right next to the steering wheel where you want it. It shifts very precise every time and also has a reverse lock out.

Soon going to be part of the Completely Stock DE Class non-mod list

Q) What is that?
A) It is my OE shifter

Q) No it isn't?
A) You are mistaken, I just removed the shifter boot

Q) Isn't it too tall to be the OE shifter?
A) No, I just lowered my seat because I'm tall - it just looks high

Q) Aren't you 5'6"?
A) I have a long torso

Ok, you can run in the Stock DE Class

And because of the shifter's additional springs, it is very close to the feel of a sequential. What I mean is that, with many shifts (2 to 3, 5 to 4, for instance), you 'almost' just pull back or push forward on the stick.

Francois,

You running with the OE or cup cable?

Also, if cup, how is the sound?

It looks like a very nice product, but $1100 for a shifter seems a bit steep when the OEM one isn't exactly horrible.

My biggest issue was motor movement slop, which I corrected with semi solid mounts. I still do the occasionally dummy shift from 4th to 5th, when I was looking for 3rd

Cup cables, but hard to say if it's louder, especially since I did not reinstall my center console.

Sound is very much a matter of personal preference: I don't mind the mechanical sounds, but am partial to a quieter exhaust. I find my Fabspeed nice and "quiet". But YMMV.

Paul, you're welcome to take the car out for a few laps next time we connect.

This is all but impossible with the CAE. The shifter's springs naturally bring the lever in line 3 and 4.

The only mis-shift that I ever used to do with my cup setup, was going from 5th to 6th, when I was looking for 4th. And man was that confusing.

Hasn't happened since the shifter.

This is the one I do - never use to do it but as I've gotten quicker I somehow do it a bunch at Mosport Turn #9 - coming into #9 you trail brake aggressively left into the apex while in 4th so your body and car mass is going right and the number of times I've found 5th as I've downshifted looking for 3rd is laughable - I actually sometimes stopped downshifting as 4th was better than finding 5th.

If someone could make a nice shifter boot that made it look more OEM I would do this. I just installed the 6 shifter cable and have now street driven it a few times and it seems fine - tiny bit more noise but not a big deal - I was worried it was going to sound like a cupcar with straight cut gears - it does not - but the combo of a lwfw and the 6 cable does slightly incease the rattle noise at idle / very low rpms but it is only very slight increase with the 6 cable.

If I did enough track days like many on this board, I would definitely install this shifter. The only negative I can see with this shifter is that I can see a potential money shift problem if you are looking to do a 4th to 5th shift and the springs sort of prevent the push right and your brain shuts down for a second you may find 3rd?

I understand what you are saying, but doubt that it is a problem. When going from 4th to 5th, you are pushing diagonally, and since there is no 7th to go to, you can put enough pressure to the outside without worrying about going too far. But yeah, a brain fart could bite you.

As I said earlier, the only one that I did (until I realized that I had to be careful) was to go back to 4th from 5th, when looking for 6th, because of not putting enough pressure toward the right. But this was on the highway, not on the track.

Good for you, and looking forward to the feedback.
