Its not the track that enforce the sound limits but the community around it. Funny thing about this one is it is in the middle of nowhere but some people with horse farms near are worried it will harm the sensitive hearing of the horses.
98db at AMP is not going to be that big of a deal. At the elevation and humidity for this area it is similar in sound to Roebling Road at 103db. Also the way it is measured helps too. It is A-rated which measures in the range of 500hz to 20khz. Hope this helps with the sound problems.

but dont most of the porsche gt3's have louder than 98db?
sharky bypass pushes 98db
sidebypass cup style exhausts are 107 ?
I'm kind of wondering because calabogie in ontario canada has this and i'm wondering
how do cups pass sound at these places
I like learning

One way is different regulations for races and certain weekends throughout the year. Example is Lime Rock has two weekends a year that are unlimited for the sound. ALMS and Grand Am get those weekends. They also have a certain number at a limit higher than 88db or whatever they are regulated to. These go to club race weekends.
Also some of the numbers reported for sound have a different weighting.

Intreresting that you think SM would not pass. When I club raced in SCCA we were sometimes grouped with SM so I would look at sound sheets at Roebling. Most SM were in the 95 to 97db range and my T3 S2000 Honda with only a cat would be 96db.

Seth,
Michael has a OEM side muffler with the Sharkwerks rear center by pass. Would you be able to measure the sound of his car to set of baseline of what we need to expect? I have the GMG rear by pass which has a deeper pitch and added the GMG headers yesterday which also also a deeper sound than stock.
All the best!

These tracks are the reason I stay away from too many cheater parts.
All OEM factory exhaust with only the side muffler delete sounds very close to OEM. ie, not really loud enough on the track and not barky enough for having fun driving to work.
But, great for driving on the phone via bluetooth and sound restricted tracks. After testing yesterday I am no longer worried about Roebling, AMP and Tremblant..
