Default Rattling headlamps then black out

My 997.2 GT3 is 2 yrs old but new to me. Anyone have experience with loose headlamps? Mine have been chattering since I got the car. This weekend while idling, one went dark. Easy warranty work but curious if others have had to tighten lights.

I wonder if they had previously been removed and not properly re-installed...

you might want to get out the owners manual, take a peek at the headlight bulb replacement section and make sure that the lighting units are properly 'locked' in place...

SEE PAGE 221 of the owners manual!!!

my guess is that someone has not reseated them and locked them properly ... hence they are lose, rattle, and not making proper contact with the power connectors hence they blink out ...

good luck!

No luck. Assembly was locked in place - really no way to have it unlocked without the headlamp, literally, hanging out of the car. It must be the actual lamp within the assembly which is loose....weird. I do have the lightweight headlamps I think.
Off to dealer....

I would try pulling the light all the way out and then re-seating it. Not that it is magic, but the lock is well engineered and the process needs to be exactly as the manual says with the lock in the right position as you insert the light. If not correct it feels like it is locked but it is not.
