I just rebuilt my LSD (not by timothy leary either) I used gaurds I have had only one track day with it, it seemed to work. I am under the assumption that the only difference between the gaurds and OEM is longevity.
I had to replace the ramps as well but what are nannies (besides those cute swedish ones) ?

Nannies are the 2nd and 3rd gen electronic stability and control aids introduced in the 997 to prevent loss of control - like the original nanny abs - anti-skid and all the other non-mech aids etc...
Generally two schools - the purists and the functionalists. The latter will drive pdk with autoblippers and long for Nissan GTR type electro-brains to improve handling and ensure Nord-ring times keep dropping, the Purists just want to be left alone 'just-me-and-my-machine' style.
Hmm ... Could be a good idea for a poll ... except little is black/white anymore
