Default GT3 in storage for 2 years

A friend took a job over seas and his stay was a lot longer than anticipated.
Long story short, the car has been sitting for roughly 2 years.

Could someone please tell me possible issues with the car.
It doesn't look like he's coming back and he plans to sell the car.

Porsche will not CPO it (obviously) because it has been sitting so long.

Without taking price into consideration, what things should be addressed before driving it again.

Thanks

What year and how much mileage? Is it in climate controlled storage or open for weather elements and critters? When does factory warranty expire?
I would not be too concerned about too many issues if the car was in perfect shape prior to storage. I would have it PPI'd before considering offer.
Battery is probably dead and will need to be recharged or replaced and probably needs a oil change. Look for oil or coolant on the bottom of engine or floor.

Thanks for quick reply. It's a 2007 with around 40k miles. Stored indoors, underground parking below apartment. Not sure if it's heated, but I suspect it's slightly heated.
There were no issues that I know of. I do know the owner enjoyed the car tremendously and took several very very long trips in it - multiple sets of tires worn through.
I will need to look under the car for leaks when i see it.

Bring a portable air tank to fill tyres that are likely low or flat if you plan on moving it.

Change all fluids; oil, trans/gear lube, brake fluid, and coolant.

New tires.

Change spark plugs.

Drain fuel, and refill. Maybe run some Techron through the system. Change the oil again after 1,000 miles.

This is what I'd do and budget for in the purchase process.

check for mice! those things will build nests in anything, they can chew right through the plastic in the undercarriage. Last thing you need to see by your pedals when you're flying down a straight away strapped into a harness.

I saw this happen to a weekend-driver Cayman... Mice got in under the bottom plastic covers and chewed through his coolant hoses, among other things!

In most cases, with good insurance, rodent damage should be covered. I've heard some of the lubricants used to help the wires get pulled, have a slight sweetness to them, that attracts these pests.

if its been sitting that long the tyres are probably "flat spotted", you can tell once you drive it, they may need replacing ...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I don't know if I will buy it, but I might help him get it in driving condition again so he may sell it.
Time will tell.

I have heard of pulling the plugs and putting a teaspoon of oil in the cylinders for the first start up. Is this necessary or not somethat that is generally done on a pcar?
If anyone else has anything to add please add to the thread, thanks

I would not do that. You can pull the fuel pump relay, and crack for oil pressure. Then fire the engine.

I'd even suggest putting the car in 5th gear, and pushing it a car lenght or two. Then crank the engine over with the starter.

oil in cylinders in a p-car will result in hydraulic stress tat may kill it.
on older cars i would disconnect coils and cranked engine a bit, like i minute or so to make oil get up and then drain down.

i do not know what porsche ECUs will do if you actually do so on a 997 car.

above posts - make sense thanks for feedback. Never had a pcar before so don't really know where to start. All I know is that they cost more to fix

if you`ll come with no ideas - try to start her up, as it starts in 10-15sec kill it and let it sit for a minute or 2.

i think as all fuel lines are empty it will crank for long enough to push oil up. all you really need to avoid is engine running on dry joints, as soon as oil will get over all passages - it will be fine.

obviously you need fresh oil and fresh gas which did not dissolved into water/oil mix.
