Default Need Help with CTEK charger

I have searched previous posts but I am not finding what I am looking for AND I am seeing come conflicting info. I just purchased the CTEK 7002. Never used this one before and want to do it correctly

So... I am trying to find out the following:

1. I searched and found photos on how to connect. Some photos showed connecting both positive and negative connectors. Others photos showed only connecting the + and grounding the -. Either one right vs. wrong?

2. Which setting do I want? The car will be in my warehouse starting today for 2 months. Climate controlled so it will be above 40 degrees. Looks like TONS of settings, so not sure what the appropriate setting is for above 40 degrees, sitting for two months, etc ,etc....

I am not sure what type of battery it is. It is the original, so if there is a stock issue for the RS's, thats whats in there.

Trying to prepare before winter sets in completely, so THANKS

If you have the cigarette lighter adapter use it and connect the unit to the plug in the center console (not the passenger well).

If you must use aligator clips, connect the (+) to the battery (+) and the (-) to a nearby unpainted chassis bolt-head.

Turn on the C-Tek only after connecting it to the car. I also recommend setting it to the motorcycle mode (slower charging rate).

---

Make sure that you ventilate your garage periodically, as hydrogen may be released from the battery. Take proper precautions - do not light a flame in the garage and make sure wall switches are in good working order (do not spark).

When you are done with the long term recharging, ventilate the garage, turn off the C-Tek, disconnect it from the wall socket, open the hood and disconnect the aligator terminals. Wait 10 minutes to dissipate any gas before starting the car.

The 7002 does not have a "motorcycle" mode. Just leave it in "Normal" mode and the charger will take care of the rest.

Here's a link to the manual:

Connect direct to the battery. The lighter tends to blow fuses on occasion.

There is an important safety reason the connection should go via a fuse-protected connector... If the fuse blows there's a reason for that too.
