My RS was stolen this weekend

Sorry to hear of your losses.
Reminds me of when my first new Porsche ('84 Carrera coupe) was stolen in '85; the cops said that it was likely put in a container at the port of Miami that same night, on its way to South America.

Do I remember correctly that your 2010 RS was recently for sale? Could the thieves have learned of the car through the sale advertising? Just a thought.
As the cars were presumably stored in a commercial space, it sounds as though they are not daily drivers. Had you insured them as collector cars? Hagerty and Chubb are both very easy to deal with in such situations.

Wow, this sucks. I can't believe I was just emailing you about buying your RS and now it has been stolen. I hope the insurance pays you top dollar. I expect the 993 value will be the tougher negotiation.

that must be an awful feeling, and am sorry for your loss.
you seem to have the right attitude though: just move on, and thank heavens you were insured.
to that i would add, look at things half full; it could have been far worse.
over here where i live, insurance is optional (and expensive,) and i know many personally who have completely lost a car due to accident, or natural calamity, and they were just write-offs.
the ultimate "half-full" of course is that in the end, they're cars and they can be replaced (unlike loved ones of the two or even four legged variety); likely with something better.
i do hope you don't have too much of a hassle with insurance, and the cops nail the b*stards that nicked your beautiful cars.

Ugh! I hate to hear that.
On the 993, it will be a little bit tougher to get the right value for it. I wish you the best. I helped my brother in law fight it out with the insurance company a couple of years ago to give him the correct amount for his (previously mine) 993 Turbo. They ended up giving him $85K for it in 2009 but that was after their initial offer of $50K was rejected.
Buddy of mine was looking at the RS as it was the exact car he was looking for.

unless you are a lawyer yourself i would involve one right away and do not sign anything to insurance reps.

the 993 "RS" is simply beautiful (not that the GT3 isnt) ... its a real shame that they have been stolen, I can only hope that they are still in one piece and whoever ends up with them takes care of them!
condolences ...

whoever who picks them is most likely a columbian/mexican drug cartel warlord and he would not give a damn to what those cars mean. not a sinlge legit buyer in the world would buy such a stolen car a you will have to go with dealer on most issues and VIn would show up... ..

I agree with everything thats said above. Get a lawyer
i bet the cars are gone to asia on a boat. Id forget them and begin thinking of how to get your coin back and move on.

Talk about pain!!
I received the FedEx papers today from the broker to sign off on the deal to buy the RS.
Now I feel robbed too!!!
So sorry Maz. Hope your insurance company treats you in a fair way.
Again, sorry for "our" loss. :-(
