Default OEM Rollcage install pics

Hi,

I am thinking about installing an OEM Rollcage, but I wanted to see some pics first. My primary concern is the welding and drilling, etc.

If you have the OEM cage, please post some pics.

Thank you!

Thanks, I seeing those too. I am trying to inform myself how much drilling needs to be done. And what options I may have. Since you have done that in your car, do you think the drilling will influence the resale value of your car?

I dont think so.....but if teh person who buys my car is owrried about a few holes in the floor he will be blind to all the other track patina it has

Here is an install form my previous car (Sin911 car). Same bar but I had it crinkle coated

the drilling and welding is minimal.
most RS or GT3 will have roll bar in there anyways.

randy, there's no cross bar in the main triangle, but only on the rear kickers?

Exactly. These are pictures from C2 while installing the bar

The above is the gen 1 bar

the gen 2 bar (below) has no holes at the X and has two tabs for side bars.

To be model corret a 997.2 shoudl have a gen 2 bar

And yes, fire extinguisher is just there as track requirement, to keep out of way.....if car burns I run

Geisha is very happy and getting a full make over.
Looking forward to the great reveal soon.

Front bar too tight for tall fat guys.
Randy can still fit in but to make it safe on the street with padding takes up a lot of room.

Where is GeishaII?

Cup car cables too noisey no?
Erik put them in, but said no improvment but more noise getting into car.

It will be a long thread

Cup car cables are on the list

Nervous about front cage and driving on the street. Giesha likes trips to the cigar shop once in a while.

cut your leg off a few inches and keep on mt biking. the crashes, broken bones and blood loss will reduce wt. that's why i ride. more blood loss = more wt loss. and when bones are replaced with titanium counterparts, more wt loss. i think my right ankle is getting Ti soon.

Mooty I can actually do that...remove entire leg with the push of 1 button...instant 12lb weight loss. Left arm is also mostly Ti along with hip. It's realy easy to get this way...a lot easier than sweating and riding a mountain bike...all it takes is a 998 Ducati, 75yr old guy in a mini van not paying attention...really easy to find in Florida! LOL

Senna, I have the RSS competition bolt in bar for my car. It installs in the same places as the OEM bar. I had Gavin at Auto Quest in Ft. Myers do mine because that is where I bought the bar. Chris at C2 does impecable work and has done 3 RS on this forum with the OEM bolt in bar.
