Super fun route! ...and come on fellas it's not like it's a 4WD route, there are a few bumpy stretches descending down Mt Hamilton toward San Jose, but totally manageable. Stage 4 of this years Tour of California raced a similar route, and they are on 23c tires pumped to 100+ psi.

Looks like 44+ cars!!! Gonna need more space to grid-up than the chevron station. Anyone been on Calavaras rd lately? I heard it's gravely.

when Sharky, Snowboarder and I did this loop a few weeks back it was *very* gravely - I ended up with 3 pretty deep stone strikes on my windshield and a couple of nasty paint chips ... I'd recommend people keep plenty of intercar space on this if they dont want dose of the same...

Good advice, I would also suggest having an extra front spoiler waiting for you at home as you will need it after the down hill from the observatory.

Sounds pretty sketch. Never done the stretch down into Calavaras rd. And a huge group! I may pass.

those are skirt area? they get chipped easily. I used to have triple layers no use
